Not every need calls for custom fabrication. To make the right decision, it is enough to look at when each of the two options comes into its own.

Custom fabrication makes sense when

• Several pieces need to look coordinated in the same material and finish
• You want a specific material, thickness or finish
• Your project depends on a drawing or concept (an architectural project, store design)
• You will need to reorder the same piece later

A ready-made product makes sense when

• A standard size meets your need
• You want fast delivery and direct purchase
• You need just one piece and budget comes first
