How does a made-to-measure metal furniture order work?

Unlike buying a ready-made product, custom fabrication requires a few decisions. Knowing the process from the start reduces both time and revision costs.

1. Need and dimensions

You share where the piece will be used, its approximate dimensions and, if you have one, a reference image. If your drawing is ready, just send it as a PDF or DWG. If there is no drawing, a photo, sketch or list of measurements can also be used to start.

2. Drawing and details

At this stage the material, wall thickness, surface finish, corner and edge details, and the way it connects to the wall or floor are settled. Going into production before dimensions and details are clear leads to correction costs later.

3. Written quote

The price and lead time are shared in writing according to quantity, dimensions and material. When several units of the same piece are requested, the unit cost usually falls, so it helps to state the total quantity from the start.

4. Production and delivery

Production is carried out according to the approved drawing. The time varies with the complexity of the piece, the quantity and the surface finish. Delivery and, if needed, installation are planned together with production.
